Terms of Service

1. The service

Briefwire monitors the sources you select — public sources from its curated library, and on plans that allow it, URLs you add yourself — and produces short, structured, AI-generated summaries ("insights") with links back to the original source material. You get a dashboard, email digests, and optional Slack delivery.

2. Informational purposes only

For informational purposes only. Not investment or business advice.

Insights are automatically generated interpretations of third-party statements. They may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. You are responsible for verifying any insight against the linked source before relying on it. Briefwire does not provide investment, legal, tax, or business advice, and nothing in the service constitutes a recommendation to buy or sell any security or asset.

3. Accounts & plans

You must provide a valid email address. Plan limits (watchlists, sources, seats, digest frequency, Slack delivery) are enforced server-side. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Polar, our merchant of record, and can be cancelled any time from the billing portal; access continues until the end of the paid period, unless a charge is refunded under the next paragraph, in which case the subscription it paid for ends with the refund. The 14-day trial requires a card and converts into the subscription you chose at checkout unless cancelled before the trial ends. During the trial the account runs at Desk's limits whichever plan you chose, with no custom source URLs and no add-on packs; anything your plan includes beyond that, such as more beats or a custom category build-out, starts when the trial ends. Regulatory sources and hiring signals, which Intelligence Partner includes, are not live yet. The regulator feeds in the curated library, such as Federal Register notices, are read today.

Refunds: email billing@getbriefwire.com within 30 days of the first charge on your account, monthly or yearly, and that charge is refunded in full; the subscription it paid for ends at once. One refund per person, across all your accounts, past or present; later renewals are not refunded, and cancelling any time stops the next renewal. Polar, as merchant of record, processes the payment and the refund. Nothing here limits a refund the law entitles you to.

4. Acceptable use

Don't resell raw digest output as your own product, attempt to bypass plan limits, scrape the service, or use it to harass creators. Add only sources you are entitled to have monitored: no URL that carries a password, a subscriber token or other credentials. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or impose unreasonable load.

5. Third-party content

Videos remain the property of their creators and platforms. Briefwire keeps a raw transcript only to extract lines from it; a daily job deletes it once it is more than 7 days old. What it stores is short structured summaries, timestamps that link back to the source, and, in the commitment ledger, the speaker's exact words for each promise it records, with or without a deadline (at most 600 characters), with its link. 6. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Briefwire is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on generated insights. Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Termination & changes

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. Deleting it first cancels any subscription Polar could still bill you for; if that cannot be confirmed, your account and its data are not deleted and you are told so. It then permanently removes your profile and everything stored under it — watchlists, with the sources, keyword filters and Slack webhook addresses on them; keyword alerts; collections, including any you published as a public brief, whose link stops working; API keys; webhook endpoints and their delivery log; the workspace you own; your memberships in other workspaces; digest history — along with any free Monday brief subscription for your email address and invitations to other people's workspaces sent to your email address. If you own a workspace, it goes with your account: its members keep their own watchlists and lose access to yours. What stays: the records of public sources — each feed, episode, post and filing, and the lines drawn from them — which every account shares, including a source whose address you added yourself; nothing in them points back to your account. Polar keeps its own records of your orders, payments and refunds, as merchant of record. Emails already delivered stay where they were delivered, and mail you sent to our addresses stays in our mailbox unless you ask us to delete it.

We may update these terms with notice via email or in-app; continued use constitutes acceptance.
