What is a brief?
A brief is what Briefwire sends: 12 lines, daily or weekly, each stating one thing somebody in the industry said or shipped, with a receipt.

What is one line of a brief?
One sentence stating one thing: a product move, a number, a prediction or an opinion, attributed to the person who said it. Under it is the receipt, a link to the second of the recording or the paragraph of the post. Lines are typed, because a shipped feature and a founder’s forecast age differently and should not be read the same way.
How are the lines chosen?
Everything published on the beat since the last brief is read, claims are extracted, and the ones several independent publishers made are ranked higher. Agreement earns a line its place; it does not make the line true, which is why every line carries its receipt. What is left out matters as much as what is kept: the brief is cut to a fixed length on purpose.
How often does a brief arrive?
Daily or weekly, by email and in the dashboard, and in Slack on plans built for teams. There is a free version too: three of the week’s lines by email every Monday, with no account needed.
